Konfigurasi modem menggunakan komputer menggunakan program Hyperterminal
karena dapat menampilkan menu pada modem. Untuk melakukan console modem menggunakan kabel straight.
Prosedur awal konfigurasi modem DMV adalah mengetahui nomor serial dari modem DMV tersebut.
Adapun prosedur konfigurasi untuk mengetahui nomor serial modem adalah sebagai berikut:
Hidupkan modem DMV dan tunggu beberapa saat, sampai muncul menu utama.
Kemudian masuk pada pilihan (c) untuk mengetahui S/N (nomor serial) dari modem DMV.

(d) Display Satellite Interface Serial Number.
(e) Display ACQ Values.

Setelah diketahui, hubungi NOC selaku operator Hub untuk mendaftarkan S/N,
mengetahui IP Management, IP Lan, dan IPGW.
Setelah didapat informasitersebut, isi parameter pada modem DMV.

Timing Offset harus disesuaikan perhitungan program latlong
dan VSAT Management IP Address diisi sesuai dengan yang diberikan oleh NOC.
Parameter sewaktu–waktu dapat berubah sesuai dengan perubahan parameter yang terjadi di Hub.
